What an amazing experience. IIRWT2015 brought us to Fiji as International guests for this years FJFW15 in Suva. Along with our team of Aboriginal and Torres Strait models representing Indigenous Australia, Pandanah opened the show to hundreds of fashion lovers on the 28th, May. We are eternally grateful for the opportunity to showcase our designs, Ellen Whippy-Knight and all at Fiji Fashion Week!

PANDANAH by Nicole Monks & Cara Mancini

The week prior to Fashion Week, we got the chance to participate in a cultural exchange to the Fijian Villages of Sorokoba, Nasaolo and Natanuku, and Suvavou. Our group were the first EVER foreign guests invited to stay in the Sorokoba village of Ba, the second largest provence in Viti Levu. This cultural exchange between these First Nation Communities was the first of its kind. The locals welcomed us in as one of their own, showering us with generosity, love, music and dance. We will never forget our time here and look forward to returning one day.

IIRWT logo IMG_5807We are so humbled and fortunate to have been asked to take part in IIRWT 2015! Here we are, talking about Pandanah, our designs and dreams with Ellen Whippy-Knight – founder and manager of Fiji Fashion Week…our first stop on the tour! IIRWT looks to unify and strengthen cultural connections with the wider indigenous nation of the South Pacific. We are so proud to be a part of this amazing initiative!

FERNABULUS Fashion show is a new platform for multicultural emerging designers to network, connect and expand business relationships in the fashion industry. We were lucky enough to be chosen as one of the exhibiting designers on the night… put on by City of Sydney and Fern Events on Jan 7th. So proud to be part of an event highlighting a multicultural Australia in Redfern.
